We are in a unique position to make comment on the subject of Starlab operators adopting the Cosmodome projection system.  We have run our own Starlab Outreach programme for schools in our home State of Victoria for fourteen years, and still offer Starlab programmes.

To achieve the outcomes required in the school curriculum, we use three cylinders Earth, (for night and day, and time zones, etc) the Starfield, and the Greek Myths (for juniors) We found these items needed supplementing, and we have added :

• A red light on a dimmer switch - to represent sunset and sunrise
• An inflatable globe – to demonstrate the spinning and orbiting earth.
• A polystyrene ball – to show phases of the moon around the unmasked projector light.
• A carousel slide projector to show life cycles of stars and close ups of the planets, etc.
• A video player and Sharp LCD video projector, with movies to show special effects, such as cause of the seasons, Polar effects, the Tides, the stellar calendar, etc.

These items are needed to make a concise presentation in the 45 minutes allotted each class but are provided within the Cosmodome software.
